Develop skill in a basic 1-hour protocol in Traditional Thai Massage
during this two-day introduction to Thai Massage.

This course introduces the history and philosophy of Traditional Thai
Massage, and includes instruction in the use of the Thai massage
techniques of palming, thumbing, pressing and stretching as they are
applied to the energy pathways (Sen) in the Thai system.  Students view
step-by-step demonstrations of bodywork techniques, followed by hands-
on practice with coaching in proper body mechanics.

Nuad Bo-Rarn, Traditional Medical Massage of Thailand is an ancient
form of bodywork practiced for over 2500 years in the nation of Thailand
(Ancient Siam).  Traditional Thai Massage involves slow rhythmic
compressions, and numerous stretches to achieve a deeply therapeutic
effect.  Thai massage works to bring balance and harmony to the body,
mind and spirit.  This work is unique, profound and wonderful!  It is unlike
anything you have ever experienced.

As with other Asian forms of bodywork, Thai massage focuses on energy
flow and applies pressure to acupressure points to release tension and
enhance well-being.   Thai massage increases flexibility and range of
motion, providing many of the benefits of yoga.  It is sometimes called
“lazy man’s yoga” in Thailand, and in the west it is sometimes referred to
as "Thai yoga massage."
